Centricity Radiology Information Systems Society (CRISS) is the users group for GE Healthcare’s Centricity RIS-IC and IDXrad Radiology Information System products. CRISS is an independent user community affiliated with and managed by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM).

The CRISS membership is comprised of a broad spectrum of professionals, including radiologists, directors, PACS administrators, and key radiology support staff. This diversity ensures that CRISS's efforts are directed with consideration to all areas of RIS administration.

The objective of CRISS is to advance the effective utilization of IDX Legacy and Imagecast/Centricity technologies by promoting, in the best scientific tradition, the free exchange of information concerning the use of the technology. The immediate and specific objectives of CRISS shall be: 

• To provide feedback to GE Healthcare and SIIM regarding equipment and software needs.

• To advance the area of image and information management through mutual education and the free exchange of ideas.

• To facilitate the exchange of relevant information between users.

GE Healthcare provides some financial and technical assistance to CRISS and participates in several user group functions. CRISS hosts an annual education meeting in connection with the SIIM Annual Meeting. The focus of these meetings is to provide educational sessions to GE Healthcare Centricity RIS-IC users and to share information. Users meetings are also an opportunity to demonstrate new GE product releases/enhancements.

GE Healthcare appreciates the valuable feedback regarding our products and services at all users meetings. Representatives from all areas of the client organization are encouraged to attend: radiologists; information systems staff; administrators; and clinical staff. In sessions dedicated to reviewing past accomplishments and current projects, customer feedback assists in the prioritization of future releases of products. The vast majority of the functionality and technology used in the GE Healthcare radiology information system solutions can be credited to our customers. In addition to discussion opportunities afforded at users meetings, CRISS members may also subscribe to an exclusive, members only, list serve, to share expertise, and discuss and resolve common problems.

We have the opportunity to enhance the partnership between CRISS and GE Healthcare by developing a strategic relationship that will provide mutual benefits for each organization. The suggested approach will be to create project charters for the major items identified between the two groups and work closely together to successfully resolve the issues. The outcome will be enhanced methodologies and processes to improve the communication aspect of this relationship. The plan will include a project charter approach that will cover the issues to be resolved and metrics to be used to report on the progress of these charters.
